About SRI Inc.
SRI Inc. was
founded in 1984 as an Ontario incorporated firm. SRI Inc. is involved
in the production of advanced ceramic components for heavy industry. In
1988, the company made a strategic shift toward the supply of
intermediate chemicals for the coatings/adhesive industry. SRI Inc.
operates toll processing agreements for various intermediate chemicals
including phenolics, asphaltics and lignin. SRI Inc. provides ocean
terminal storage and distribution services in Canada and the U.S.
Customers are serviced by tanker truck, rail car, ocean vessel and
direct terminal supply lines.
In 1995, SRI
Inc. adopted a spill response protocol utilizing an absorbent
containing specific bacteria to treat the spill material. Our spill
protocol has been supported by GEM Industries of Vancouver, Canada, and
Phase III Inc. of Arizona, USA. The products developed by these
companies include the Oil Sponge™ line and the Zorbolite line of spill
response products. SRI Inc. presented a featured technical paper at the
Canadian national Marine Conference in Halifax (Mari-Tech '99),
entitled Bioremediation and Advanced Absorption: New Technology in
Spill Response. It focused on how these products offer an economical
and practical solution to spill response not available with
conventional products.
Ongoing
research and development is constantly improving our products and we
will be launching three new environment products. Our
overall philosophy of responsible care and control are our guiding
features to product development and our shared target with Environment
Canada is "Environmental Protection procedures and products that make
business sense." Our environmental programs improve our bottom line
corporate economics and a host of other parameters including
occupational health and safety issues.
